RAPIDware was a research project on the design and operation of adaptive software, conducted in the Software Engineering and Network Systems (SENS) Laboratory at Michigan State University. Specifically, RAPIDware addressed the design of high-assurance, adaptive software to protect critical infrastructures (e.g., financial networks, power grids, transportation systems) from extreme operating conditions, component failures, and cyber-attack. The project involved five faculty members and ten…
RAPIDware was a research project on the design and operation of adaptive software, conducted in the Software Engineering and Network Systems (SENS) Laboratory at Michigan State University. Specifically, RAPIDware addressed the design of high-assurance, adaptive software to protect critical infrastructures (e.g., financial networks, power grids, transportation systems) from extreme operating conditions, component failures, and cyber-attack. The project involved five faculty members and ten graduate research assistants. It was supported by a grant from the Department of the Navy, Office of Naval Research under its Critical Infrastructure Protection and High Confidence, Adaptable Software Program of the University Research Initiative. The project started in 2001 and continued through 2007.
