    ?"A Commonwealth of Knowledge" was an educational initiative launched in October 1998 by Virginia's First Lady, Roxane Gilmore, to support the implementation of the Standards of Learning (SOL) in Virginia. The website served as a resource hub for educators, providing a searchable database of lesson plans, a register of volunteers, a bulletin board for news and events, a forum for success stories, and a calendar of classes with conference schedules.
