  • Basic Database Management System

    Designed a parser and lexer using Flex and Bison for the basic MySQL commands which
    after tokenization passes it to the lower level functions. The lower level functions then perform the appropriate task like creating, deleting, reading, modifying a database and it's internal structure.

    A basic FTP client and server was designed in C to implement functions like cd, ls, pwd, gets, puts, mgets, mputs, exit, etc. on both client as well as server side. Error checking mechanisms were implemented so that client and server can communicate easily by sending arguments and commands properly.

    A basic TFTP client and server was designed in C++ for transferring a file from client to
    the server and a file from server to the client. Read-Write request packets, Data packets,
    Acknowledgement packets and Error packets were constructed for properly transferring
    a file and receiving error and acknowledgements accordingly.

    A basic M/M/1/K network model was constructed and DoS attacks were simulated under both UDP and TCP connections. Further a proper study of expected number of packets being dropped was given by varying network parameters like service rate, arrival rate, bandwidth, etc using NS2, awk scripts and gnuplot.

    Polynomials were interpolated using Hermite and spline interpolation and integral approximations were calculated using Newton-Cote's and Gaussian Quadrature. IVP and BVP problems were solved using Euler, Runge-Kutta and Shooting methods. Diffusion and Poisson equations were solved using FTCS, BTCS, Crank-Nikolson, Gauss Siedel and Jacobi iteration schemes with proper analysis of convergence and stability.

    Random numbers and normally distributed random variables were generated using Box-Muller, Marsaglia method and correlated random variables. Low discrepancy numbers were generated using Monte Carlo integration along with observing and simulating the pattern of Brownian Motion and their distributions using GNU plot.
