(gentle music) - [Instructor] First type of data ingestion we're going to talk about is ingesting data from databases, which are typically on premises or in other clouds to databases and data warehouses in AWS. In this lesson, we'll describe the service for this, "AWS Database Migration Service," or just DMS. The AWS Database Migration Service is a cloud service used to migrate relational databases, data warehouses, NoSQL databases, and other types of data stores into AWS, or between combinations of cloud and on-premises setups. You could use it to convert your schema and actually change database engines, such as migrating from Oracle to Redshift. Or it can just move data to a compatible target, such as migrating from a MySQL database to Aurora MySQL. AWS DMS can work with a large number of databases from several database vendors and cloud providers. These include Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, MongoDB, SAP, IBM Db2.
