Well, as it turns out, studies show that multitasking makes us less efficient and more prone to errors, poor memory retention, and stress. If we're constantly switching gears, bouncing back and forth throughout a meeting or presentation, we become less efficient and effective. It can also affect our ability to focus, to learn, and retain information because the cognitive load is higher. That's especially true when it comes to matters that are complex and require active thinking, like finance. So, here's what we can do to address these challenges. First, having a clear structure. The first stop to minimizing multitasking is to put together a structure to the delivery. Think back to our prior video on future state, current state, gap analysis, and think back to our prior video on putting together time-bound agendas.
